The writer is right about the characters needing to be recognizable, but they need to keep in mind that sometimes it's the result of different animators and artists. In the comics, for instance, a lot of characters are barely there, borderline cameos, and I think they work just fine overall plot-wise regardless. There's a lot to work with, but they don't need to work with it all. Characters are inevitably going to get the shaft. As long as they still convey the character properly, it's not a big deal. It always helps, no doubt, but there have been plenty of good anime adaptations of games with good replacements. The writing in this is cliche'd, awkward and lacking in much insight, but even disregarding that I disagree with just about every point. And yeah, just remake the Orochi ending frame by frame with more animation. Seeing some of those animated would be awesome. Just click on 'team stories' through the years. Utilize these awesome stories from the official canon. Don't add in rando main characters or change the plot too much. Just follow the games, use some of the manga(the important parts they use in the games), and keep it snug. I think keeping KoF anime to 'Sagas' would be the best. I'm surprised it's not his standard greeting. It wasn't super flashy or insane, or even long, but yeah, Iori totally would punch a stranger in the face and try to stomp on his head within the first 30 seconds of meeting him.

I think the coolest thing about Iori/Soiree was indeed the personality that went into it. Really well done intro, all the characters were cool, but yeah that fight scene was great. I miss my Dreamcast and we played that a ton. More of a video game thing but dude had it coming as well for what he did to Heidern's family. Seeing Rugal actually eat it in '95 after giving me so much grief in '94 was likewise nice, hah. (Yeah, Orochi will keep trying to come back, but it was a pretty decisive victory, even if it is temporary.) Was so satisfying to watch Orochi nearly get his head ripped off.
#King of fighters anime series
'97 was like seriously my favorite fighting game ending and probably still is, as I loved they way like the series up to that point actually culminated in that awesome ending and I remember watching it way back then in the arcades and calling my buddies over. I would like, fund the Orochi Saga myself if I could.
